Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
These are the rules for using iKnewIt. No legal jargon — just plain English. If something isn't clear, write to support@iknewit.bet and I'll rephrase it.
A note on the wording below: I write as "I" throughout the rest of the site, and you'll see that here too. But in some legal clauses it makes more sense to write "we" — there it means iKnewIt as a platform (not me personally), so the contract still works if iKnewIt ever has co-founders, employees, or new owners. Same intent, slightly more careful legal phrasing.
What iKnewIt is right now
A social prediction platform in demo mode. You forecast outcomes of real-world events with virtual currency. There's no real money — none flowing to you, none flowing to me. Demo balance can't be withdrawn, exchanged, or converted to anything of monetary value. This is a forecasting platform in demo mode, not a financial product.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older. By signing up you confirm you meet that age requirement and that using a prediction platform is legal in your country.
Your account is your responsibility
Keep your password and recovery code somewhere safe — a password manager, a secure note. If you lose both your password and your recovery code and your email access, I cannot recover the account. No backdoors. That's a feature for your protection: if I could recover your account without you, an attacker could too via social engineering.
Account authenticity — no impersonation
Be yourself. Don't pretend to be someone else — not a public figure (politicians, journalists, athletes, crypto influencers), not another iKnewIt user. That includes the username, the avatar, the profile bio, and the social links. If your profile leaves a reasonable person believing you're a specific real human you're not, that's impersonation, and it's not allowed here.
Why this matters: someone betting on a market because "@TuckerCarlson said YES" deserves to actually be reading Tucker Carlson, not a copycat using his face. Impersonation distorts the signal value of every prediction on the platform.
If you spot an impersonator, you'll be able to report the profile (this report flow is on the way). When confirmed, the account is banned and the misleading content is removed. Inspired-by usernames ("NotElonMusk", "FakeButerin", parody accounts that are obviously parody) are fine — context matters, and a clear "this isn't the real person" signal keeps the spirit of fair signal.
You're responsible for the accuracy of what you put on your profile — your username, your avatar, your bio, your social links. iKnewIt isn't the verifier of who anyone is on the internet; we don't take responsibility for false claims of identity by users. We just remove them when found.
Fair play
The leaderboard is the heart of the product. For it to mean anything, people have to play honestly. That means: one human, one account (multi-accounts for leaderboard farming get banned), no bots or automated betting, no collusion between accounts on which side to take, no market manipulation (wash trading, fake volume).
If I catch any of this, the account is banned without warning. That's not vindictiveness — it's protection for everyone else who doesn't want their honest rank turned into a joke by cheaters.
What you can post, what you can't
You can: your predictions, your reasoning, links to sources, discussion of the event.
You can't: share contact information (email, phone, messenger handles, crypto wallet addresses) — an automatic filter blocks comments containing it. This is anti-scam: the classic "hey I have an inside tip, DM me" play won't work in comments here.
Also not allowed: insults, threats, illegal content, other people's personal data, copyrighted content that isn't yours.
What you post is yours. I just display it on the platform. If you want a comment or your account removed, I'll remove it.
Markets and resolutions
Platform markets are created by me (in phase A1, personally; later there may be community curation). They resolve based on the source declared at creation.
Community markets are created by you — for everyone or just to settle an argument with friends. You pick how they resolve: a specific source or explicit criteria you declare. I reserve the right to void clearly broken or ambiguous markets and refund stakes — this is rare, not routine.
As-is, no warranty
The platform runs as-is. I do everything I can to keep it reliable, but it's still a beta product — there may be outages, lost demo balance, disputed resolutions. Since there's no real money on the line today, there's no material liability that I owe you, and I don't accept any. By using iKnewIt you accept that.
When real money turns on
In a future phase (about 12-18 months from now), real money will turn on — stablecoin deposits, withdrawals, embedded wallets under your email login. That will be a completely separate flow with separate terms: AML checks at high volume, jurisdiction restrictions, deposit and withdrawal procedures. None of that is active today. When we get there, I'll present those terms separately and you decide whether to opt in.
Contributions and Contributor Rank
When you submit a suggestion, idea, feedback, or other content through the Suggestions form or any comparable channel, you grant iKnewIt a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate that content into the product without compensation, attribution beyond the public Contributor Rank mechanic, or any future claim to equity, royalties, or share of profit.
Contributor Rank is a recognition badge with no monetary value. Holding any Contributor Rank tier — Spark, Builder, Architect, Pioneer, or Co-creator — confers no rights as a shareholder, creditor, employee, or contractor of iKnewIt or any related entity. The Rank exists as social recognition: when other users see your tier, they know you helped shape this product. That's the value, and that's the only value.
You retain no proprietary right or expectation in any feature you suggested, even if your suggestion was the cornerstone of the implementation. We may build, modify, abandon, or replace any submitted idea without further notice or compensation.
Changes
I'll update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be flagged on the site. Continued use after a change means you accept the new version.
